Hello fellow oppos, good news! Recently, I was fortunate enough to finally be able to waltz into a Subaru dealership and say, “I’ll have the crystal white pearl BRZ you have over there, good sir!” Well, sort of.

This is my first ever fun car and also my first ever manual car. I’ve been practicing and it’s gone from being “oh my god, this is the scariest drive of my life, what the f*** have I done?!” to, “oh my god I feel like an idiot at the stoplight” to, “I can’t wait to get home and practice more!”

So far the cars been pretty cool. Considering I came from an old car all the “common” features are amazing. Keyless access and Bluetooth audio. Even a back-up camera. I can’t even. The car’s like a spaceship to me! The suspension is quite stiff but in a good way as it’s still comfortable on the street. The whole sensory experience is really fun. It makes getting back into my old car seem very tame and isolated. Overall, I’m digging it a lot. And I love staring at it.

To my surprise though, they didn’t throw in a free Monster branded flat-billed cap and several vape pens! I could’ve sworn that was what was in the pleather package they gave me with the keys. Sadly it was just the car’s instruction booklets.

Anyways, it’s Friday before ‘Murica day and I’m waiting for 4pm to get home and enjoy the long weekend so ask me anything.

Congrats! It’s Funny, I usually don’t like white cars but the BRZ pulls it off very very well.

If these had a sunroof I’d be all over one. That is a deal breaker to me

How’s the backup camera screen? The one in my mom’s Outback is just about useless. It’s small, hard to see, and is easily glared out by the sun.

It could be the type of hight. The height could come from the torso, or legs. For me it is the torso.

I love these. We have a black one (my personal fav color on these) on the lot and I want it so badly, but that would require getting rid of the GTO. And I can’t bring myself to lose 250hp.

What’s funny was the cheapest offer we got was for a black one at a dealership across town. They didn’t have any white ones but we found a closer dealer with the white one I wanted Nd they gave us an even lower offer when we mentioned we had a lower price at another dealer.

It’s pretty good. I still find myself looking in the rearview mirror though since I’ve never had a back up camera before. And the rear window isn’t too small so it’s just fine. It does help with rear side view though since the rear quarter panel windows are hilariously high and small.

I used to/currently daily a 2001 Acura CL. It had 225hp/216 lb-ft torque. The power is there but it doesn’t have the same get up as the CL. That said, one major difference is the BRZ is a lot more visceral feeling. When i get in the CL after driving the BRZ it feels very sluggish and isolated even though it’s about the same in terms of speed.

I feel that’s most stances at owners though. So many stanced Civic, Subaru, Scion and BMW owners who spew out vape smoke at the stop lights

I actually do plan on attending a few track days once I can get the whole manual driving thing down. I also found myself looking at a Perrin exhaust and Tom’s tailights too. Oh god it’s happening. How do I make it stop?!

Haha I haven’t run into many FR-S/BRZ owners yet but I definitely won’t be snobby about it. They’re the same car to me

Mine as well. I also never noticed but the stock wheels look a lot nicer in person and up close. They look horrible in pictures but within 5 feet they’re actually concave and have a nice look. I did not expect to like them as much as I do now

It’s a great car for that, one of the most rewarding I’ve driven on a track. My only suggestion for you there would be an oil cooler or some heavier oil and a temp monitor so you can back off when it gets to around 260F.

Tell me if you figure out how to stop the mod bug, I was going to keep mine stock too...
